A wide variety of viruses have been associated with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). This condition has a prevalence of approximately 1% in the general population and presents with symptoms including fatigue, pain, and cognitive dysfunction. CFS has no specific therapy and remains largely a clinical diagnosis, which has resulted in a substantial degree of misdiagnosis. Recently, gene polymorphisms have been implicated in the pathogenesis of this condition. In this review, we describe the current evidence for an association between CFS and three genetic polymorphisms in cytokine genes, Toll-like receptor genes, and genes in the renin-angiotensin system.I lost track of Richard Avedon, the world-famous fashion photographer who died in 2004, in 1990s, only just the year after he had taken a picture of the shaggy hair and large ears of a young performer called Tracy Chapman. “Sparkly Chanel jewelry” he called it. After graduating from a series of schools including the Chichester High School for Girls, Chapman enrolled at Columbia University, where she studied modern and American poetry, painting and sculpture. Yet, just as she was graduating from college, she found herself out of work and began to write songs.
On her own, she recorded her be359ba680
